Elaine Pagels

Dupa ce a obtinut doctoratul la Universitatea Harvard in 1970, Elaine Pagels a predat la Barnard College, unde a condus Departamentul de Religie, si la Universitatea Columbia. In prezent este profesor de religie la Universitatea Princeton. A participat, impreuna cu alti savanti, la editarea mai multor texte de la Nag Hammadi. Elaine Pagels este autoarea mai multor carti: The Gnostic Gospels (1979) - premiata cu National Book Critics Circle Award si National Book Award in 1980; Adam, Eve, and the Serpent (1988); The Origin of Satan (1995); Beyond Belief: The Secret Gospel of Thomas (2003); Reading Judas: The Gospel of Judas and the Shaping of Christianity (2007); Revelations: Visions, Prophecy, and Politics in the Book of Revelation (2012).
